ABU Garcia USA Advertising.

The major portion of advertizing by ABU Garcia in the USA initaly focussed upon Ambasseur and Abumatic

Ambassadeur 3000/4000 series.

The 3000 and 4000 are actually the same reel being sold in different colour Plastic sideplates designed for saltwater use. They were issued in 1964 and sported different foil identification stickers.

Whilst effective reels , the new material faded easily and did not stand up to rugged saltmater use as intended.

For collectors , it is difficult to find a good used sample, unless mint in box. Both of mine exhibit fading but are otherwise quite serviceable.
