"...We are
located on the central coast of NSW. I have approx 130 ABU reels and approx
350 other brands of reels. I have an extensive collection of reels which I
imagine are quite valuable and irreplaceable. I do a lot of standard mods
eg replacing bearings with ceramic abec rated bearings. I modify spools to
fit into different Ambassadeurs etc. Different sideplates , gear ratios
altered full custom services offered as well etc different paint jobs,
engraving basically I can change any old reel that whines and groans into a
high performance casting tool.....
....In
these days of mass producing reels I get great satisfaction out of
modifying a reel or tuning an old reel to perform better than a new
D#$@% or S$#@^&#. They have the money to advertise and blindly lead
people into believing they are the only reel manufacturers out there. As we
know ABU have been there and done that and have not really changed much at
all especially when they know they have a winning product, AMBASSADEUR. If I
can do my part into helping people realize that their old Abu can
outperform far more expensive reels with minor tweaks here and there I
have done my job.....

a 5600 C thumbbar frame with red release as well as Jay dual
clutchfailsafe.
Notice the old modified 5000 D
L/H Sideplate and Orange R/H sideplate, with larger 50's
thumbscrews.
L/H sideplate modified to
accomodate bronze bush to go in to adjust freeplay.
Personalized engraving
within both sideplates.
