Other Competing Swedish Fishing Reels

Arjon, Nordic, Victory, Rainbow, Craftsman, Sportsman, Pebco (licenced ABU product) Cadillac (a blantant copy of the Record 1300 )  and the ever so beautiful Malte Blohm produced many  excellent reels and were all very strong contenders for the crown of superior fishing company in Sweden. There are more for me to discover yet I'm sure. For a multitude of reasons, outlined on other pages here, I believe A.B.Urfabriken prevailed over these other contenders. It is my intention to collect just one example of each different Swedish company product.

My good friend Rikk, whom I believe has the finest non ABU/Record Antique fishing reel website in the world, has provided me with some beautiful images of some of these other reel company products. more to follow I hope. If any one has different images of these companies or their products , I would be pleased to see and host them here. Please note, many images I have been given are similar to , if not the same as from Daniel Skupien's Definitive and to my mind, the best book (Vintage Fishing Reels of Sweden) to date on Swedish Fishing equipment. As these are rare images , I am unsure of the original origin of the images, so would also like to acknowledge fully both Rikk and Daniel and others who have allowed me to use them.

I would suggest to any serious collector, Daniel's book, listed elsewhere on this site, should be the first you buy if you are thinking of  becoming  a serious student of Record/ABU or other Swedish reels.
