ABU Garcia USA Lure Advertizing.

Notice at this time, Garcia was not only dealing with ABU but had an open relationship with other companies to import their lures, notably the French for Plucky and Floppy lures and Norway for the imitation insect lures.

Pick through these to see what is familiar as purely ABU fare.

Quite a few new one to me , such as Eelet, Can-Can, Pecos-Dace, charmer, Voblex, Pecos-Mullet etc

As you can see Garcia in the 50's and early 60's offered the american angler a very wide range of choice in lures.

Remember of course some ABU lures were only ever available in Scandinavia also. By this time ie late 50's  the short relationship with Heddon was over.

I would certainly appreciate any USA anglers/collectors  who have lures such as Kelly,  Sally,  Whirler, Tilly,  Heddon ABU Hilo, Floppy, Plucky,  Eelet  to contact me with a view to a sale or trade for items of interest.

Also anyone with further insights into the selling of ABU in USA are welcome to contribute.

I am indebted to Wallace who has kindly and freely shared  many of these beautiful images for all of us to enjoy.
