ABU Dream Trips  : Morrum River 1982

Stefan Jonsson
In the late 1970s, I got hold of a cottage north of Aneby, about 45 km east of Huskvarna. I started exploring the lakes in my vicinity. -78 I got my first (pike-perch) Sander in Ralången which was less than a mile from the cottage. They weighed from about 4 kg and up to 6.4 kg, I think it was. I continued to invest in fishing for pike-perch (Sander) in Ralången in 1979 and the coming years. In 1979, I received three pike-perch (Sander's) over 7 kg. The largest was 8 kg and the other 2 7,150 and 7 kg respectively. In 1980, as the biggest pike-perch (Sander) I got 9.85 kg. Photo # 1.

In 1981 I got 2 nice pike-perch the same night when I was fishing and the largest was at 11.26 kg and the other at 8.4 kg. Almost 20 kg of pike perch (Sander´s) of 2 fish. Photo 2. I was rewarded with winning ABU's dream trip that went down to the Lax premiere in the spring of 1982 in Svängsta.

Photo no 3. Here are some of the winners at ABU's part of Mörrumsån.

I was operated on one knee about 2 months earlier and jumped most around on crutches and talked to the responsible and the other winners. I did not rehabilitate me enough before the trip. In any case, I got a sea trout during the week we were there, and then I had some more that was on and off but that I didn't get hooked unfortunately. I was also offered the opportunity to participate in the fishing journal's trolling film and the bit that would be about trolling after pike-perch (Sander).

Although we had the worst possible weather with really hard northern wind and rain from Monday after midsummer, rain and about 10-11 dough. C in the air until the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. So for about 48 hours. Already the first evening we got 3 pike-perch (Sanders´s) and 2 pike together and all were more than happy but we continued to fish the remaining days. No pike less than 4 kg and the largest of about 6 kg. It was a fantastic fishing even though it was a really bad weather. Everyone was happy!

Photo no. 4. I am down in the right corner of the cover of the trolling video made with me in it.

II was one of the pioneers in Sweden who started fishing with live roach after pike-perch (Sander), and it turned out to be a winning combination.
I used the following equipment: Ambassadeur 6000, fishing line was Dogger nylon line 0.40 mm, the rod was a Vangen 11 ´ table 0.60 mm nylon line from Dogger also and the bait was about 60 g live roach.
